IntelliAssist is an AI-powered chatbot
plugin for IntelliJ IDEA designed to help
students with their coding assignments and labs by providing guided learning rather than direct answers. Using
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Llama 3.1, it offers step-by-step explanations, hints, and debugging
support to help students understand concepts and solve problems on their own. The tool integrates with a
Professor Dashboard, allowing instructors to upload assignments and hints, ensuring personalized and
context-aware assistance. The project is currently in testing and is expected to be deployed by the end of Fall
2025.
